Introduction
If you’re a frequent traveler and a Marriott loyalist, there’s a lot to love about the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card. Even if you aren’t a Marriott loyalist, this credit card is actually worth considering for its generous perks.
What Is The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card?
The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card (not an affiliate link) from Chase stands out as the only entry-level, mid-tier personal Marriott Bonvoy card. It comes with an annual fee of $95 and an exciting welcome offer. It is generally considered the primary choice for people looking for a mix of standard Marriott perks and decent earning rates.
Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card: Perks and Benefits
To begin with, the sign-on bonus includes 3 free night award certificates — each night valued at 50,000 points — after you spend $3000 in the first 3 months from your account opening.
Marriott Bonvoy points are worth ~0.84 cents apiece, making the current sign-up offer worth up to $1,260 — since each certificate can be used at a property costing up to 50,000 points per night!
The card comes with a slew of perks and benefits, with plenty of ways to fast-track to elite status too. You can earn:
- Upto 17X points for every $1 spent at hotels participating in the Marriott Bonvoy® program: 6X points with Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card + Up to 10X points from Marriott Bonvoy® for being a loyalty member + 1X points from Marriott Bonvoy® with Silver Elite Status
- 3X points for every $1 on the first $6,000 spent in combined purchases each year on gas stations, grocery stores, and dining.
- 2X points for every $1 spent on all other purchases.
Along with these perks, what makes this card unique are its additional benefits that you can later redeem.
- Free Night Award: You get 1 Free Night Award every year after your card account anniversary. This award certificate can be used for one night at a redemption level at or under 35,000 Marriott Bonvoy points and at a participating hotel.
- Automatic Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite Status: You will automatically receive Silver Elite Status each account anniversary year.
- 15 Elite Night Credits: Each calendar year you can receive 15 Elite Night Credits towards the next level of Marriott Bonvoy Elite status — an immensely valuable benefit if you are aiming for a higher tier status with Marriott Bonvoy.
- Earn Elite Night Credits: You can also earn 1 credit toward the Elite Status for every $5,000 you spend on purchases with the Boundless card.
While the perks mentioned above are the significant ones that offset the $95 annual fee easily, the card also offers a few additional perks:
- Baggage delay insurance: If a passenger carrier delays your baggage for over six hours, Chase may reimburse you for essential purchases up to $100 a day for five days.
- Lost luggage reimbursement: If a passenger carrier damages or loses your checked or carry-on luggage, Chase may reimburse you up to $3,000 per passenger.
- Trip delay reimbursement: If you are delayed by more than 12 hours or required to stay overnight when traveling by a common carrier, Chase may reimburse you for select, otherwise unreimbursed expenses up to $500 per ticket.
- Purchase protection: Chase covers most new purchases for 120 days against damage or theft, up to $500 per claim (capped at $50,000 per account).
- No foreign transaction fees when you use your card for purchases made outside the United States.
- Points don’t expire: But make sure you are using your card at least once every 24 months.
- Visa Concierge: You get complimentary Visa Signature® Concierge Service 24 hours a day to help you find tickets to the top sports and entertainment events, make dinner reservations, and so on.
