Here’s How Hyatt’s Updated ‘Pay My Way’ Feature Can Make Your Booking Experience More Convenient

Introduction

In an era where travel is becoming increasingly tailored and technology-driven, innovative features are shaping the way we experience the world.

Hyatt’s ‘Pay My Way’ functionality is one such advancement that’s catching the attention of modern travelers. In this article, we’ll delve into what Pay My Way is, who stands to benefit from it, and how it can enhance your travel experience.

What Is Hyatt's Pay My Way Feature?

Imagine you’re planning a vacation and want to stay at one of the World of Hyatt properties for a few nights. Instead of paying for all the nights of your stay using one mode of payment, you can use different ways to pay for each night, all at once.

The Pay My Way feature is really helpful when you’re staying for 2 or more nights. This feature proves beneficial in situations where certain nights come at a lower cost when paid in cash rather than redeemed through points, or if you possess one or more free-night certificates that you’d like to utilize. The beauty of it all lies in the fact that these multiple payment approaches can be seamlessly combined within a single reservation.

In the past, achieving this level of flexibility required engaging with a Hyatt representative over the phone or making multiple separate bookings either online or through the app.

However, as of August 3, 2023, World of Hyatt has taken this convenience to the next level. When you’re in the process of booking a room and happen to possess one or more free night awards, you not only have the ability to incorporate a free night certificate as a mode of payment within the same reservation, but you also have the power to select which specific award certificate you wish to employ.

Why Hyatt's Pay My Way Feature Is Beneficial

Now that you know what the feature is, you might be curious about when and why it’s a good idea to use it. The main situation where it comes in handy is when you don’t have enough points or free night awards to pay for all the nights of your intended stay.

It can be also be strategically wise to use this feature when you face a combination of high cash rates for certain nights and low cash rates for others. In such cases, you can opt to redeem your World of Hyatt points for the nights with expensive cash rates, while choosing to pay in cash for the nights with more affordable rates.

This feature, therefore lets you explore the most economical way of paying for your multi-night stay, all in one transaction.

That said, not all rates and room types are eligible for Hyatt’s Pay My Way feature. It’s also worth noting that there are instances where the option to use Pay My Way may not be available at certain Hyatt properties.

How To Use The Pay My Way Feature

To use Hyatt’s Pay My Way feature, follow these steps:

  • Log in to your World of Hyatt account.
  • Search for a stay lasting two nights or more.
  • Do not select the “Use Points” option. This step is crucial for the process.
  • Now click on “FIND HOTELS” to view your options.

Final Thoughts

Hyatt has taken a significant step forward by enhancing its Pay My Way feature. This enhancement focuses on simplifying the reservation process, providing better control over payment methods, and delivering a smoother, more tailored booking experience.

While there is still potential for further improvements, such as streamlining the ability to filter properties and room choices compatible with the Pay My Way feature, this update definitely represents a positive stride in the right direction.
